Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) provide Landlords, Estate Agents and private tenants or perspective buyers with a report showing how energy efficient a domestic property is. By law, the majority of properties that are rented or marketed for sale must have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC).
We have produced over 2,500 Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) over the last 14 years within the Reigate, Dorking, Horley and Oxted areas and throughout Surrey.
An energy performance certificate provides you with information on how to make your house more energy efficient and reduce carbon dioxide emissions and also gives you a scale of “A to G”.
“A” is the top end of the scale meaning that your home is very energy efficient and “G” is the bottom end of the scale meaning that there are improvements to be made.
As well as telling where you are going “wrong” with your energy saving, the report will also give details on the improvements that can be made as well as a projected figure of how well your house would perform once these changes have been made.
Around 27 per cent of the UK’s carbon dioxide emissions come from domestic homes. Carbon dioxide contributes to climate change and with Surrey having a population over 1 million I’m sure that together we can help to reduce this figure!
